Kelvin Ogilvie, Professor of Chemistry of McGill,... was the inventor in the early 1980 of the automated "gene machine" capable ... of manufacturing short sequences of DNA². This advance, developed in Ogilvie's research labs at McGill University, was an essential part in bringing the "tech" into biotechnology. Fonction: It is a manual injection system that filters samples as it's injected into a fixed smaple loop, because there are no transfer steps during filatration you eliminate the chance of mixing up samples.
Technique: Models 5301 and 5302 are three-way slide valves. The center port is connected to one of the two side ports depending on the slider position. A handle moves the slider with a snap-action. The valves can be mounted so the only the toggle handle protrudes from the mounting panel.
