Technique: In 18th century, English potters tried to find a recipe to make porcelain. Chinese imports became limited. Josiah Spode founded his company in 1776. Among other innovations in the pottery industry, he perfected a recipe for making bone china which became a success. The paste was very white and translucide and hard.
