Canada: Part of a large collection of medical artifacts, archival material & trade literature transferred to CSTM in 2002 from the former History of Medicine Museum, Toronto, ON. This items was used in practice of Dr. J.S. Chaikoff, former Senior Attending Anaesthetist at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Ont.. Dr. Chaikoff was a general practitioner who specialized in anaesthesia. [Refs. 2 & 3]
Fonction: To deliver prepared anaesthetic for inhalation.
Technique: Designed in 1943 for use in obstetrics. [Ref. 3]

Marques: Triangular yellow and black label on mask reads "3/ [gogo]/ ANTISTATIC" . White markings stamped inside mask are illegible. UHN catalogue no. "988.18.5d" printed by hand in white ink on mask. "A. CHAS. KING./ LONDON" stamped into stopcock end. UHN catalogue no. "988.18.5b" printed by hand on metal junction fitting. UHN catalogue no. "988.18.5c" printed by hand in white ink on hose.
Manque: Unknown- appears to be complete.
