Fonction: Allows user to hear sounds from within the body. Especially used to listen to heart, pulse & lungs.
Technique: Developed by Andrew Fleischer and first marketed in 1913, this improved stethoscope greatly reduced extraneous sounds, allowing physicians to monitor heart sounds more accurately. [Ref. 4]

"982.5.23" printed by hand in white ink on ear tube bracket; "219" crudely printed in white ink, beside UHN catalogue no.
