Canada: Unit belonged to Dr. J.S. Chaikoff (father of original donor), a general practitioner who specialized in anaesthesia. Part of a large collection of medical artifacts, archival material & trade literature transferred to CSTM in 2002 from the former History of Medicine Museum, Toronto, ON.

Numerous markings stamped into cannister top, including "205 598/ COMPLIES WITH/ I.C.C. SPECN. 3/ O.C.M. CO./ J.H.S./ 5.22/ 1 [symbol] 40/ 9 [symbol] 45/ 1 4 55/ 3 4 61". Some markings are difficult to discern. Label sealing edges of paper wrapper reads " [OHIO] CHEMICAL CANADA LIMITED/ [Me]dical Equipment and Anesthetic Gases/ [MONTREA]L TORONTO/ [EDM]ONTON VANCOUVER".
