The donor’s father was a dairy scientist with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food for some 41 years. He collected old items related to dairying, and these items ended up with the donor upon his passing. He would go antique shopping in the Gananoque region of Ontario as well as trade some of his old clothing items. His exchanges were quite often for antique bottles found across the northern part of Leeds County. The donor further bolstered the collection with antiques from the eastern Townships in his quest to recreate a general store set in the 1890s in his basement in the Glebe neighborhood of Ottawa. - Function
