The Apollo Spacecraft Configuration Control Board (CCB) was put in place to review and manage changes to the Apollo spacecraft before the changes could be approved and headed by George Low, the Manager of the Apollo Spacecraft Program Office. Grumman Aircraft Engineering Cooperation to design and build the Lunar Module (LM) in January 1963. This identification badge belonged to Owen Maynard, a Canadian engineer who became the Chief of Systems Engineering in the Apollo Program Office in 1964, where he ensured that the Lunar Module functioned alongside the other Apollo spacecrafts, and with the Saturn V rocket and the ground facilities. This badge shows material evidence of Maynard’s presence and contribution to a CCB meeting between the Manned Spacecraft Center and Grumman representatives.
