The Inspire 1 Pro was the first drone at CTV Edmonton to be used live on air in 2016 as an upgrade to the Phantom 2. It captured a live weather shot over the west end of Edmonton. Cam (the drone’s operator) believes this footage is also one of the first live drone shots ever used in Canada, and possibly North America. The success of CTV Edmonton in using this footage would eventually culminate in the purchase of a fleet of drones (starting in 2019 with the Mavic 2 Pro) and the training of two additional drone pilots between 2019 and 2022 to bring their total to three licensed drone pilots for the news station. Used by the pilot of the Inspire 1 Pro drone working for CTV Edmonton. This tablet was used to communicate a video feed of the drone location is space as well as to provide confirmation that the commands being sent to the drone by its remote control were being executed correctly. Technical

The Inspire 1 Pro came equipped with its own high-quality camera (previous models, like the Phantom 2, required the purchase of a GoPro). The Inspire 1 Pro camera captured stabilized 4K video and also permitted the use of exchangeable lenses. It also had the option of an additional hand controller, which meant that two camera operators could control the drone at once: a “pilot” controlling flight and a “camera operator” controlling video. This made the use of other features, like zoom, much easier to effectively control. The Inspire 1 Pro had more stable video connection with the ground hand controller, as well as permitted use of the drone over further distances. Most significantly, it could accommodate live video transmission. This made it an ideal candidate for news broadcasting and an obvious upgrade from the Phantom 2. Finish

An object that is rectangular in shape that has a transparent glass screen covering its entire front. Under the glass a black synthetic material frames the outer border of the object. A camera sits at the top of the object beneath its glass and a small circular button sits at the bottom of the object. The button has the symbol of a square and is used to unlock the tablet. The back of the object is constructed with a silver metal material and has a white sticker with black lettering on its top. Beneath the sticker is the image of an apple as well and the model name of the artifact written in black lettering. Under the model name is other manufacturing information written in the same color lettering. Un objet fait en forme rectangulaire. Il y a un écran en verre transparent sur sont devant au complet. Sous le verre il y a un bandeau noir en matériel synthétique. En haut de l'objet il y a une caméra sous le verre au milieu du bandeau. En bas de bandeau il y a un bouton circulaire avec un symbole carré à l'intérieur pour déverrouiller l'objet. L'arrière de l'objet est construite avec un matériel en métal de couleur argent qui a un autocollant blanc avec un lettrage noir. En dessous de l'autocollant il y a une image d'une pomme et le nom de modèle en lettrage noire. Sous le nom du modèle il y a d'autres informations par rapport au manufacturier.
