Made in Canada by an important manufacturer of diving equipment. John Date, coppersmith and a welder, began his business by repairing diving equipment used at the construction of Victoria Bridge. He established his company in 1853 under the name John Date Ltd. The company operated until the 1960s. Fabriqué au Canada par un manufacturier important d'équipement de plongée. A rare example of an electric lamp designed for diving. The bulb is made by the Hydro Electric Power Commission of Ontario after 1906. It is 200 W and 120 v. - Manufacturers plate; "JOHN DATE REG'D/ MANUFACTURERS/ MONTREAL, CAN."
- Missing
- The cable has been cut approximately 2cm from the base of the lamp. Le câble avait été coupé environ 2cm de la base.
- Finish
- Brass or copper coloured metal finish covers the lamp with a clear glass housing around the bulb. The cable and the gaskets around the glass housing are black.
