The weights were designed to be used with the Iles de la Madeleine turbine in Québec. Les poids étaient conçus pour être utilisé sur une éolienne située aux Îles de la Madeleine dans la province du Québec.

Function

This stabilizer was used as a counterweight to keep a vertical wind turbine (VAWT) stable as it harnessed wind energy to convert it into electrical energy. Ce stabilisateur vertical était utilisé comme contrepoids pour garder une éolienne stable pendant qu'il fonctionnait pour transformer de l'énergie éolienne à l'énergie électrique.

Technical

The weights, which were supposed to stabilize the turbine, were never installed. In July 1978, the turbine became destabilized and spun off its tower. Les contrepoids étaient supposés stabiliser une éolienne, mais ils n'étaient jamais installés. En juillet de 1978 l'éolienne est devenue déstabiliser et a grâce à la force centrifuge à tomber de sa tour.

Finish

A silver metal object with a rectangular shape that has two rows of three holes on its face. A white sticker is visible on its front face with handwriting on it. The back of the artifact has writing on it in black ink. Un objet en métal de couleur argent qui est en forme rectangulaire. Il possède deux rangées de trois trous sur sa face. Un autocollant blanc est aussi visible sur sont devant avec de l'écriture à la main. Le dos de l'artefact a aussi de l'écriture en encre noire.
