- "PARSNIP,/ HOLLOW CROWN" and "(Panais long blanc.)/ PRICE 5 CENTS./ From A.L. FISHER, - Brockville, Ont." printed on package front; "HOLLOW CROWN PARSNIP./ The standard variety, and is considered the/ best in cultivation ; roots long, free from side/ shoots, tender, sugary and of excellent flavor./ To retain them fresh for winter use pack in sand/ or earth slightly moist, in the cellar. For spring/ use the roots can remain in the ground through/ the winter without injury./ CULTURE. - Parsnips do best in light well/ enriched loam/ made mellow and fine and deeply/ tilled. Sow early as the ground can be easily/ worked, in drills half an inch in depth in rows/ about 20 inches apart. Thin to 5 inches apart./ GROWN AND PUT UP BY/ A.L. FISHER, - BROCKVILLE, ONT." printed on reverse. Parks Canada catalogue no. "X.71.160.170 X" printed by hand in pencil in lower right corner of package back.
