- "BEET/ EARLY BLOOD RED TURNIP./ 5 c./ FROM/ A.L. FISHER./ BROCKVILLE, ONT." printed on package front. NB: Damaged package has been wrapped in parchment-like paper, secured by adhesive backed tape. "EARLY BLOOD RED TURNIP BEET./ A very early and popular variety/ wherever grown. Roots dark red,/ smooth and free from fibres, sweet/ and tender. Keeps well through/ winter and spring. Are good for/ both early and late use./ CULTURE. - Sow as soon as the/ ground can be worked for early, and/ up to the middle of June for winter/ use. A light, warm, rich loam is/ best. Use fine, well-composted/ manure ; sow in drills 20 inches/ apart, and thin the plants to six/ inches in the rows" presumed to be printed on reverse [as per .14 package] Parks Canada catalogue no. "x.71.160.170 H1" presumably printed by hand in pencil in lower right corner of package. " 170 H1/ BROKEN Pkg." printed by hand in blue ink on paper wrapper covering broken seed package.
