The armband was used by Mr. William Henry Skippen who was nominated to be the engineer for the Royal Train between Jasper and Edson, Alberta in 1939. He was operating the locomotive 6047. It was the first visit of a reigning British monarch in the country. Le brassard était porté par Mr. William Henry Skippen qui a été sélectionné pour être l'ingénieure pour le Train Royale entre Jasper et Edson en Alberta en 1939. This armband was used to identify railway workers connected with the Royal Train during the visit by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Canada in 1939. Ce brassard était utilisé pour identifier les cheminots pour le Train Royale pendant la visite du Roi George VI et la Reine Elizabeth au Canada en 1939. - Technical

A train conductor or engineer would be required on board to read the train orders and relay them to the Station Operator to check for botrh the correctness as well as sign the order. The confirmation of the signature would be sent back to the Dispatcher who issued a “complete” time and had the Superintendent initial the order back to the Station Operator. Un chef de train ou un ingénieur est requis dans le train pour lire les ordres du train et les passer à relais à l'Opérateur de Station pour s'assurer que les ordres étaient corrects ainsi que pour signer les ordres. La confirmation de la signature était renvoyée au Coordonnateur qui approuvait l'ordre et le désignais comme “complet” avec l'heure exacte avant de demander que le Surintendant impose ces initiales et renvoi les ordres à l'Opérateur de Station. - Area Notes

- A white arm band made of fiber that has red lettering across its front. The back of the armband has two grey coloured synthetic elastics that connect both ends of the armband together. Un brassard blanc fait avec du matériel en fibre qui a un lettrage rouge d'un côté. Le dos du brassard a deux élastiques de couleur grise faite avec un matériel synthétique pour attacher les deux bouts du brassard ensemble.
