The Bill Mason collection consists of typical cameras and other equipment in the 16 mm format widely used by documentary film makers in Canada in this period. According to his camera operator, Ken Buck, Mason “lived by” exposure meters. This model was his preferred instrument for outdoor photography. [Ref.1] - Area Notes

- "WESTON" stamped into leather cover on meter. "WESTON MASTER III/ UNIVERSAL EXPOSURE METER" printed on meter face. All settings, index values, etc. printed on meter. Markings on meter back are obscured by tape label: hand printed label reads "BILL MASON/ MEACH [sic] LAKE RD/ OLD CHELSEA/ QUEBEC". Visible permanent markings on meter back include :"A.S.A. CONSTANT = 1.0/ FOREIGN PATENTS/ FRENCH 862,770 BRITISH 531,996/ CAN. 347,085 CAN. 411,975/ MADE IN U.S.A."
