Canada: The camera was purchased by Mrs. Doris Spracklin in 1959 from the Danwood Jewellers in Toronto. She used it to take family photographs. After Doris passed away in 1961, the camera was not used but it was kept by her son and then her grandson, who donated it to the museum.

Technical: In addition to all the features of a typical Polaroid camera, the 800 model also included a new carefully designed lens, and electronically tested shutter and permanently lubricated bearings.
