One of the stamps on this cover depicts the Broadway Bridge, built in 1932 over the south Saskatchewan River, Saskatoon. The bridge was designed and built by C.J. (Chalmers Jack) MacKenzie [1888-1984] while on leave from his position of Dean of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. During World War II he was president of the National Research Council in Ottawa and later President of Atomic Energy of Canada.Ltd. In 2007 MacKenzie was inducted into the Canadian Science and Engineering Hall of Fame at the Canada Science and Technology Museum (from exhibit text). - Function
