- "11 DE 1940" incised in underside of wooden frame. "J.F. HARTZ CO. L[td.}/ SICK ROOM SUPPLIES/ TORONTO AND MONTREAL" printed on decal applied to underside of frame. UHN catalogue no. "983.15.1" printed by hand in white ink on handgrip.

- Light brown colour canvas sling has silver metal buckles, grommets and zipper. Oak frame. Silver metal frame supports, braces. Canvas secured to oak frame using silver metal nails, and reinforced by leather trim.
