THE REFLEX RADIO RECEIVING CIRCUIT WAS INVENTED IN 1917 BY MARIUS LATOUR. IN IT, THE VACUUM TUBES ARE MADE TO PERFORM AS BOTH RADIO AND AUDIO FREQUENCY AMPLIFIERS. THE INCOMING RADIO FREQUENCY CURRENT IS AMPLIFIED AT RADIO FREQUENCY, RECTIFIED BY A DETECTOR, THEN AMPLIFIED AT AUDIOFREQUENCY, USING THE SAME TUBE. (REF.2 ) - Area Notes
