COMB FOUNDATION WAS FIRST MADE BY MEHRING IN 1857 IN GERMANY. TO PREVENT SAGGING, CAPT. J.E. HETHERINGTON INVENTED THE COPPER WIRED FOUNDATION BUT IT WAS BRITTLE.
