- lettering on certificate reads: "In September 1940, the Air services Department/of the C.P.R. was formed in Montreal to ferry/bombers most urgently required in Great Britain. In/May 1941, this organization was taken over by the/Ministry of Aircraft Production and later by the Royal/Air Force Ferry Command. When the Royal Air/Force Transport Command was formed in April 1943/the Montreal formation became the headquarters of No./45 Group./From this early date very large numbers of multi-/engined aircraft were ferried from Canada, Bermuda/and the Bahamas across the North and South Atlantic/to many parts of the world by a team of civilian aircrew in/support of the Royal Air Force. This team was disbanded/when victory in Europe was won, and/This Certificate is Presented to/A.G. Sims/to record his most meritorious services to the war effort as..../Captain of Aircraft/between September 1942 and June 1945/[signed] G[illeg.] Powell/G.J.
