Function: ELECTRO-MAGNETIC SWITCHING DEVICE FOR CONTINUOUSLY MONITORING & ADJUSTING VOLTAGE & CURRENT OUTPUT OF GENERATOR USED TO PRODUCE ELECTRIC CURRENT IN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE.
Technical: EARLY NON-VIBRATING VOLTAGE REGULATOR DESIGNED BY AUTO-LITE, USED TO LIMIT RATHER THAN PROVIDE CONSTANT VOLTAGE CONTROL; LATER SUPPLANTED BY MORE RESPONSIVE REGULATORS OF VIBRATING TYPE. HERE PRACTICE OF REMOVING NAME PLATE OF ORIGINAL MFR & REPLACING IT WITH THAT OF RE-BUILDER HAS BEEN FOLLOWED (REF. 1).
