- Print lower centre of white border reads: "TEAK ONE/ ["]Teak One["] was the call sign used by the General ["]Chuck["] Horner as a young fighter pilot in Viet-Nam and again as Commander/ 9th Air Force, Shaw, Sumter, Sc./ When Iraq invaded Kuwait, on 2 August, 1991, General Horner departed a few days later for Saudi Arabia to take command of/ all coalition air forces in the area./ His performance is best described by a quote from a major speech of president George Bush. ["]The coalition victory in Kuwait/ and Iraq would not have been possible without General ["]Chuck["] Horner. He merged people and place from 30 bases in the U.S.,/ six navy carriers, the marines and nine allied nations into a seamless theatre air force [continued in notes]
