THEY WERE MORE EXPENSIVE TO PRODUCE BECAUSE THEY REQUIRE 2 COMMUTATORS INSTEAD OF 1; THE BASE & SHAFT MUST BE EXTENDED AT ONE END; AND MORE LABOUR WAS REQUIRED TO ASSEMBLE THE GREATER NUMBER OF ARMATURE COILS. - Mfr's plate fixed to dynamotor casing reads "N.P. 91544/ GENERAL ELECTRIC/ AIRCRAFT [logo] DYNAMOTOR/ MOD. 5D21NJ3A CONTRACT/ NUMBER/ [illegible]/ INPUT-V 27 A 35 FREQ. DC/ OUTPUT-V 115 KVA 485 PF 1.0 PH 1 FREQ. 400/ SERIAL UB-D-50901 ASSEMBLY/ NUMBER TT8117016". Stylized markings stamped into mfr's plate, and in ink on casing are largely illegible. "ROTATION" printed on arrow-shaped decal applied to motor top. Decal on base marked "BASE MUST BE/ SOLIDLY GROUNDED/ BEFORE OPERATING/ THIS MACHINE/ SEE INSTRUCTIONS".
