THIS COLLECTION CONSISTS OF OVER 7500 ARTIFACTS, AND IS THOUGHT TO BE THE LARGEST & MOST COMPREHENSIVE IN CANADA. IT WAS DONATED IN ITS ENTIRETY TO THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY IN 1992.
Function: PROVIDES A POINT AT WHICH POWER CAN BE DRAWN FROM A WIRING SYSTEM
Technical: STANDARDIZATION WAS SERIOUSLY DISCUSSED BY MFRS IN 1915 ANDPRETTY WELL IMPLEMENTED BY 1925. THE T-SLOT WAS A SIGNIFICANT STEP IN STANDARDIZATION (INTRODUCED BY HUBBELL IN 1915) AS IT ACCEPTED BOTH TANDEM, PARALLEL AND POLARIZED PLUGS.
