THIS COLLECTION CONSISTS OF OVER 7500 ARTIFACTS, AND IS THOUGHT TO BE THE LARGEST & MOST COMPREHENSIVE IN CANADA. UNTIL WELL INTO THE 1920S SOME RECEPTACLES HAD AN EDISON SCREW SOCKET INTO WHICH ONE MIGHT PLUG A BENJAMIN PLUG [SCREW TYPE], A NONROTATING PLUG, OR A HUBBELL-TYPE SEPARABLE PLUG. IN 1915 NELA PUSHED FOR STANDARDIZATION AND A MOVE TO A 2-PRONG RECEPTACLE. BY 1931 IT WAS RARE TO SEE THE SCREW-TYPE RECEPTACLE OFFERED. (REF.1 - Area Notes
