- ON HANDLE 'LIGHTNING/ WIENER COOKER/ PATENT PEND.' RAISED LETTERS/ PASTED TO BOTTOM, PRINTED ON PAPER 'INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPERATION OF THE/ LIGHTNING WIENER COOKER/ [DIAGRAM] Patent Pending/ 1 Pour Water into each Cooking Compartment as shown at A./ Only enough water should be used to contact the wiener ends./ While no damage can result from more water, the closer to/ the end, contact is made, the more uniformly the wiener will/ be cooked. Do not put in enough water to connect the two/ compartments./ 2 Add one level teaspoonful of salt to each side and stir. Note:/ It is often convenient to keep salt solution prepared in a tea pot/ for quick use. If this is done use one tablespoonful of salt for/ each cup of water./ 3 Place one or more Wieners as shown and bring handle to/ center or vertical position./ 4 To prevent wiener from bursting, puncture the wiener/ casing with a fork or knife. When stem is quite evident and/ the wiener has become plump, it is ready to serve. This usually/ requires slightly longer than one minute./ 5 Keep the Cooker sanitary be frequent washing./ The fresher the wiener the quicker it will cook. (a cold/ wiener requires a little more time than one which has been/ allowed to reach room temperature.)/ THE LIGHTNING COOKER CO./ Cleveland, Ohio'.
