Period: WWI (1914-1918)/ Herbert John O'Connor enlisted in the Canadian Army (28th Battalion, 6th Canadian Infantry Brigage) on Oct. 20, 1914; transferred to the RFC in Sept. 1917; was discharged on Jan. 23, 1918 (rank of Corporal) upon being granted a Commission as 2nd Lieut.
