Markings: "GRIFF", "421 SQD./ 416 SQD./ 430 SQD./ 2 (F) WING/ GROSTENQUIN FRANCE/ 18978 FS C.A. GRIFFITH/ SENIOR N.S.O'S MESS 1955" printed on cup face ."GERMANY" printed below shield on cup side. "Baur's/ Souvenir - Shop/ München, Zweigstr." printed on underside of base. "PROPERTY OF W. TOWNS" typewritten on paper label applied to underside of base.

Finish: White porcelain cup has gold trim; blue, red, gold tone and black decals and cast pewter lid.
Decoration: Elaborate decals depicting RCAF and unidentified emblem, and German crest decorate mug: decals incorporate floral, winged eagle, crown, oak leaf and heraldic elements. Scrolling vines, leaves and symmetrical abstract patterns cast into pewter lid, which has finial cast on top.
