Technical: A DOUBLE TUBE OR SHEATHED ORDINARY THERMOMETER WITH A CYLINDRICAL BULB, OF THE KIND USED BY THE CANADIANMETEOROLOGIVAL SERVICE BEFORE 1951, AFTER WHICH SHEATHLESS THERMOMETERS WERE USED. THE DOUBLE TUBE SERVES TO PROTECT THE SCALE FROM WEATHERING.
