THE MARTIN WAS THE FIRST TWO CYLINDER OUTBOARD WITH MECHANICAL VALVES RESULTING IN A VERY SMOOTH RUNNING ENGINE. THE MOTOR HAD A VERY GOOD POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO BUT WAS EXPENSIVE TO MANUFACTURE WHICH WAS THE MAIN REASON FOR ITS DEMISE. - Area Notes
