Technical: This bundle is labelled as containing punctuation. This lot consists of an incomplete 'alphabet', and is expected that a complete font of characters will be acquired by the museum later in 1979. The complete collection of ideograms would number approx. 6000 characters. [Ref. 1]

Markings: " 8.2" printed by hand in black marker on tape securing paper around type bundle. "PONCTUATION [sic] MARKS FOR/ SHANG-WAH PRESS" printed by hand in black marker on yellowed label applied to box.
Missing: NB: Type inside this bundle not viewed during cataloguing; identification, etc. based on markings on packaging. Complete collection of Chinese ideograms would number approx. 6000; approx. 353 ideograms received.
