ALTHOUGH BUILT PRIMARILY FOR PASSENGER SERVICE, THE THREE 'PRINCE' SHIPS WERE EASILY CONVERTED INTO NAVAL VESSELS. THEY FEATURED 6 SINGLE REDUCTION PARSONS-TYPE STEAM TURBINES GEARED TO TWO SHAFTS PRODUCING 20.000 IHP. THEY COULD REACH UP TO 24 KNOTS, HOWEVERSELDOM USED THEIR SPEED & POWER IN PASSENGER SERVICE. - Area Notes
