USED IN LARGER PRINTING SHOPS, THESE CABINETS WERE "BANKED" SO THAT 4 COMPOSITORS COULD WORK FROM THE SAME CABINET (2 PER SIDE) WITHOUT CROWDING. SUCH ADESIGN SAVED SPACE AND THEREFORE MONEY. THE POLHEMUS DESIGN BECAME ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR CABINETS OF THE 1890-1930 PERIOD. - Area Notes
