Electrostatic generators operate by using manual (or other) power to transform mechanical work into electric energy. They develop electrostatic charges of opposite signs rendered to two conductors, using only electric forces. The spinning disk is enclosed in the box to protect it from humidity, also for safety reasons. Most disks of machines of this type were exposed to the air. Two Laden jars to collect charge. - Area Notes
