MILLIONAIRE WAS LARGER BUT ESSENTIALLY SAME DESIGN AS ARITHOMETER, BUT WITH MULTIPLICATION ACHIEVED DIRECTLY, NOT BY SUCCESSIVEADDITIONS. DESIGN WAS PATENTED BY OTTO STEIGER OF MUNICH IN 1893 & FIRST MARKETED BY EGLI IN 1899. ONLY ONE TURN OF HANDLE WAS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE MULTIPLICATION OPERATION; THIS MECHANISM WAS DEVELOPED BY LEON BOLLE IN 1887 & COMPLETED IN GERMANY FOR THE MERCEDES-EUKLID CALCULATOR C. 1900. - Area Notes
