ONE OF SEVERAL LARGE PAINTINGS COMMISSIONED FOR DISPLAY IN THE CANADA PAVILION OF A SCOTTISH NATIONAL EXHIBITION HELD IN GLASGOW IN 1910. FUNDED BY THE CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILWAY, THE PAINTINGS EACH DEPICTED SOME DEVELOPMENT OF A PROVENCE BY A SCOT. THE PAINTINGS WERE LATER FEATURED AS ILLUSTRATIONS IN J.M. GIBBON'S BOOK "SCOTS IN CANADA", PUB'D IN TORONTO BY MUSSON BOOK CO. LTD. IN 1911.
